About TM Physio

We are a long established physiotherapy practice in Canberra with an excellent reputation amongst the medical and general community. We have three practices – one in Deakin and two in Kippax (West Belconnen).

We are looking for an Exercise Physiologist to join our experienced team and work closely with our Physiotherapists at our Kippax practices. You as an EP will be well respected by our Physiotherapists for your skills and input to TMPhysio. Our team members have a great working relationship and there are daily opportunities for skill development and continued education, in addition to regular team in-services.

We have a strong referrer base and the successful exercise physiologist will work with an interesting and varied patient load. An example of pathologies/patients you will treat include:

Post surgery (eg THR, TKR, post shoulder surgery)

Compensible patients (including assessment and design of exercise/treatment programs for return to work, return to function for employers such as Calvary Hospital, Public Service Departments, Big W and Woolworths)

DVA patients with varied pathologies

Private patients with varied musculoskeletal injuries: tendinopathy, cervical and lumbar spine pain, shoulder and knee musculoskeletal pathology, adolescents/adults with sporting-based injuries.

Private patients with chronic disease: T2DM, osteoporosis, arthritis, advice on general exercise programs/gym based programs.

You will have access to a wide variety of assessment equipment, a small yet well equipped clinic-based gym and multiple treatment rooms. You will also have access to Club Lime Kippax for treatment of patients.

You As An Exercise Physiologist

You need to be a motivated and enthusiastic Exercise Physiologist who enjoys the private practice setting and working with a diverse range of patients. Ideally you will have a minimum of 2 years working experience as an EP.

Selection Criteria

  • Experience working as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with a diverse range of clients (including some of the pathologies listed above);
  • A strong understanding of the musculoskeletal system and experience in assessment, exercise prescription and program design;
  • Experience in developing treatment requests to insurers and EPC/Medicare reports for referring doctors;
  • A demonstrated high level of organisation;
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate well with patients and co-workers;
  • Be able to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team;
  • Have a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

TM Physio is offering a part time position up 15 hours per week at our Kippax clinics. The days and times can be negotiated with the successful person. We offer an excellent remuneration package.
